Harmony for Mind, Body, & Spirit

Tranquil Balance

Complimentary health in Norfolk with Melanie Elliott

Reiki is a traditional hands-on complementary healing method which uses energy channelled by the practitioner. I practise Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki which is the original Japanese method given to Dr Mikao Usui. He passed the teachings to Dr Chujiro Hayashi who initiated Hawaya Takata, who brought Reiki to the western world.

Reiki is channelled by the practitioner, primarily by the hands, to the client, to enable the client to utilise the energy to heal themself.

Reiki works with the mind, body and spirit, bringing them into balance and alignment, allowing the person to experience a sense of relaxation, peace and harmony. Both emotional and physical disturbances can be addressed as Reiki works on discovering, easing or releasing the source or cause of the problem, rather than simply treating the symptoms.

During a session the client relaxes, either while sitting or lying down, as the practitioner places their hands either on or around the client’s body using a variety of positions. This allows the healing to be tailored specifically to the needs of the client rather than adopting a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

Reiki Training and Attunements

I am registered as a Reiki Master Teacher with the Complementary Therapy Association (CThA) and my courses have been approved by them. Both Reiki First and Second degree training courses are taken over a period of twelve hours each, which can be split into either two full or four half days. Courses are run on a one to basis or in small groups (a maximum of four people).

Reiki First Degree is available to everyone, with the emphasis on self healing and developing your knowledge and awareness of Reiki energy.

Reiki Second Degree is for those who already hold their Reiki First Degree and wish to expand and deepen their knowledge. Reiki Second Degree is a widely recognised qualification enabling you to become a Practitioner.
